1. Is Sisters of Sakina only for reverts?

Not at all. Sisters of Sakina welcomes reverts and born Muslims alike. What matters is that you are on this journey with us, wherever you started. There is no requirement to have a particular background or length of time as a Muslim to join.

No. There is no entry requirement based on how you pray, dress, or where you are in your journey. Come as you are. Sisters of Sakina is designed to welcome Muslim women at different stages of their faith journey.

Yes, completely. Sisters of Sakina retreats are created specifically for Muslim women. There are no male staff or male guests within the retreat experience, creating a comfortable environment where sisters can travel, reflect and connect together.

This is genuinely a personal decision, and we respect that sisters hold different views on it. Our own position is that the Qur’an doesn’t explicitly require a mahram for travel, so we don’t make it a requirement to join. If you follow a school of thought that does require one, we encourage you to speak with your local scholar or imam to guide your decision.

That’s completely okay. You don’t need to know anyone before joining. Sisters of Sakina is built around bringing women together, so you can arrive independently and meet sisters who share similar values, faith and interests.

We choose destinations carefully and organise the retreat with participants’ wellbeing and safety in mind. A host is also on-site throughout the retreat to provide support and help whenever needed. The retreat programme also includes organised transportation and activities.

You will receive a full packing list after you register, tailored to your destination, activities and season. This helps you prepare for the specific weather, accommodation and experiences included in your retreat.

Yes. We want the retreats to be as accessible as possible, so instalment options are available where offered. You don’t necessarily need to pay everything upfront; the available payment options will be shared when you register your interest.

The cancellation terms depend on the retreat and booking arrangements. The applicable cancellation and refund policy will be confirmed before you complete your booking, so you can understand the terms before committing.

No. Hijab is entirely your choice throughout the retreat, including in shared spaces. Wear it, take it off, whatever feels right for you. This is your journey, not ours to dictate.
