“It is He who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers, that they would increase in
faith along with their [present] faith.” – (48:4)
Sakina is the inner peace and tranquillity gifted by Allah. It is not something we manufacture ourselves or something we can chase down alone. Throughout the Quran, it’s described as something sent down: into the hearts of believers, upon the Messenger and his companions, carried as a sign of faith within a community. It descends. It isn’t earned through effort or willed into being by a single person.
That’s the heart of our name. Sisters of Sakina exists to be that gathering. It is a space where God-given tranquillity has room to descend through worship, through support and through simply being together. We’re not offering you a version of peace you build yourself. We’re creating the conditions the Quran shows it arriving in. Sisters, gathered.
Sisters & Sakina. One is the vessel for the other.
